Man arrested for assault with deadly weapon charge

Guillermo Flores Jr. turned himself in to the Tyler Police Department about 5 p.m. Friday and was arrested on an outstanding aggravated assault with a deadly weapon warrant and taken to the Smith County Jail.
According to Lt. Billy W. Yates, Flores was wanted in connection with shots fired about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Taco Bell at 7425 S. Broadway Ave.
Witnesses stated that a male, later identified as Flores, fired several rounds from a pistol toward Joseph Gilliam.
Once officers arrived on the scene, they discovered Flores and Gilliam were involved in a verbal altercation, Yates said.
The altercation led to shots being fired. No one was injured during the shooting, and Flores left before the officers’ arrival.
Bond was set at $250,000.
