Update: Suspect involved in Wednesday manhunt arrested

The suspect involved in a manhunt in the Lindale area has been arrested.
The Lindale Police Department was searching on Wednesday for Thomas Sweet, 28, in an area surrounding County Road 499 and 431. The police department was assisted by the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, Smith County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office and the Smith County Fire Marshal’s Office.
Sweet was apprehended Wednesday night by Hawkins Police Department with the assistance of Wood County Precinct 2 Constable Kelly Smith and Precinct 2 constable deputies, according to a Lindale Police Department Facebook post.
He has been booked into Smith County Jail on multiple charges. He was wanted on several charges in Morris County and one charge in Smith County.
He has been charged with property theft worth $2,500 to $30,000 in Smith County. The charges from Morris County are burglary of vehicles, criminal mischief worth $100 to $750 and two charges of burglary of a building, according to Smith County jail records.
