The family of the last original Kilgore College Rangerette announced her death Tuesday night.

Virginia “Gay” Grey Law Culp, 94, of Henderson died Tuesday morning at her home, her family said.

Culp was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Louisiana and grew up in Kilgore during the oil boom days, her son, Randy Culp, posted on social media.

She appeared with the Rangerettes for their first performance on Sept. 12, 1940, at a Kilgore College football game, her son said.

Arrangements are pending with Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.
