(MCT) — Kilgore Historical Preservation Foundation board will observe National Preservation Month in May with a quilt show.

Featuring the handiwork of sisters Constable “Sis” Dickerson and Marian Dickerson, the free show open to the public is set for 2 to 4 p.m. May 3 at Kilgore History & Arts Center, 224 S. Kilgore St.

KHPF has kicked off its annual membership drive inviting residents to assist in its mission “to honor Kilgore’s unique history as a railroad and oil boom town by restoring and maintaining its iconic boomtown skyline, preserving its historic building and landmarks, and documenting its history in print and accessible archive collections.”

Membership dues, which are tax deductible, are $60 for businesses, $30 for families, $20 for individuals and $3 for students. A lifetime membership costs $500 for an individual and $800 per couple.

KHPF accepts memorial contributions and honor gifts.
