Tyler police continue to investigate the death of a woman who was found unresponsive near downtown last week.

Don Martin, the department’s spokesman, confirmed information the Tyler Morning Telegraph received in regards to the woman being found on June 19 near the railroad tracks in the vicinity of The Salvation Army.

Martin said the woman, identified as 28-year-old Michelle Ingram, was taken by EMS to East Texas Medical Center where she was immediately placed into ICU.

Two days later ETMC officials contacted Tyler Police Department to file a report due to the woman dying while in the hospital.

“We were called to take a report and we requested an autopsy, so one was performed and we are awaiting the results. At this time we do not know if we have an accidental death or something more,” he said.
