DOWN EAST BOYS CONCERT

IVAN PARKER CONCERT

Gospel artist Ivan Parker will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Feb. 3 at Tyler’s Westwood Baptist Church, 820 NNW Loop 323. Parker’s performances have included appearing on the Gaither Homecoming video series. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $10. BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Bethany Word of Life Tabernacle, 6808 Paluxy Drive, in Tyler will have its first Black History Month program this year after the 10 a.m. worship service Feb. 5. The program is one of a four-part series in February, in celebration of Black History Month. Gussie L. Daniels III is the scheduled guest speaker for the first program. A fellowship dinner will follow. Texas College English professor Dr. Kenneth Usongo is the scheduled speaker for Feb. 12. A movie about Black America since the time of Martin Luther King Jr. will be shown on Feb. 19 and 26. Each program will follow the 10 a.m. worship service. All events are free and open to the public. WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY

“Breathe, Making Room for Sabbath,” is the title of an evening women’s Bible study at Holly Brook Baptist Church, 3219 S. Farm-to-Mrket 2869, in Hawkins starting Feb. 13. Based on a book by Priscilla Shirer, the five-week study will be held from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. Judy Dorman will lead.
