East Texas Christian Academy is welcoming the new year with a new board president.

The ETCA Board of Directors selected Dr. Michael E. Weimer as its new president.

Weimer will serve as chief executive, overseeing school operations, according to a news release from the school. He will focus on institutional advancement, public relations and financial management.

Weimer points to Luke 6:30 as an example of his learning philosophy – “A student is not above his teacher and everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.”

Weimer holds masters degrees from Harding University School of Theology and Fuller Theological Seminary. He earned an Educational Specialist degree and PhD in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
