A proposed new southwest Tyler fire station and the proposed consolidation of Fire Station No. 1 and Fire Station No. 4 are among the priority projects currently listed in the One-Half Cent Sales Tax Corporation 2014-2015 Annual Work Program.
On Wednesday, the city council approved the annual work program for capital improvement projects, along with the One-Half Cent Sales Tax Corporation 2014-2015 Corporate Budget.
Other projects include the West Cumberland Road extension, which is proposed as a four-lane road with sidewalks; a new police substation planned at the entrance to Faulkner Park; the proposed Tyler animal care facility; and the city’s Palace, 26th and Grand Improvements Project.
Additionally, part of the 2014-2015 annual work plan and budget includes $4 million to do pavement enhancements on city streets, City Engineer Carter Delleney said.
He said the Half Cent Sales Tax Board meets multiple times each year to discuss potential projects.
