Coronation kicks off week of homecoming activities at Texas College

Texas College celebrated 125 years of serving East Texas with the coronation of a new Miss Texas College.

Sophomore Keyara Vialpondo was named Miss Texas College on Sunday. Her escort was SGA President Stephon Smith, a senior.



The coronation is part of homecoming week activities at the college. Other events include a parade at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The Steers will face off against Bethel College at 5 p.m. Saturday at All Saints Episcopal School.

The starting location will be on the corner of Englewood Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

  • Turn right on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and proceed to Border Avenue;
  • Turn left on 27th Street and proceed to Grand Avenue;
  • Turn left on Grand Avenue and proceed to Texas College; and,
  • Enter the campus at first entrance to the right, by the Willie Lee Glass Building.
