Sherif Iskander, a cardiologist with Cardiovascular Associates of East Texas, leads the next Cook With a Doc on Feb. 16. He will be making a salad and Egyptian moussaka, a dish made with eggplant, beef, onion, garlic and tomatoes. 

“I have two passions in life,” Dr. Iskander said. “My first is being a heart doctor and my second is cooking. I love to cook for people, get them to taste and to share my culture.”

Cook With a Doc, a project of the Smith County Medical Society, begins at 6 p.m. at Natural Grocers, located at 4820 S. Broadway Ave. in Tyler.
