Cocaine found in Palestine home, 2 arrested

PALESTINE — Two people have been arrested and two children were placed with another family member after police found cocaine and drug paraphernalia in a Palestine mobile home. 

Edward O. McCoy, 28, and 30-year-old Paulette Jackson were arrested after police served a search warrant at a home in the 1100 block of Bassett Road Wednesday morning about 5:45 a.m., according to Palestine Police Capt. James Muniz.



Muniz said officers found 5.5 grams of cocaine in the resident and drug paraphernalia in the home occupied by McCoy, Ms. Jackson and her children ages 3 and 11. 

McCoy was charged with first-degree felony manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, and Ms. Jackson was charged with two felony counts of abandon or endangering a child/criminal negligence. 

McCoy remained jailed in the Anderson County Jail Thursday afternoon on a $150,000 bond, and Ms. Jackson remained on bonds totaling $100,000.
