A Bridgeport man has been indicted by a Wood County grand jury on a third-degree felony fraud charge, accused of cheating in a September fishing tournament on Lake Fork.

Terry Keith Long brought in a fish to be weighed at the McDonald’s Big Bass Splash on Sept. 22 and authorities discovered the tail of the fish had been trimmed so it would fall within the size limits for Lake Fork, according to a statement sent Friday by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Texas Parks and Wildlife said the case was presented to the Wood County grand jury, which handed up an indictment on fraud in a freshwater fishing tournament with a prize of less than or equal to $10,000.

Wood County authorities issued a warrant for Long’s arrest after the indictment was handed up on Nov. 28.

Long was arrested March 8 and released the same day after posting a $25,000 bond, according to Wood County Jail records.
