The Tyler Police Department is investigating a body found near the Walmart on Texas Highway 64 West in Tyler.

Detective Andy Erbaugh said the department was called after someone found the body in a wooded area near the store on Friday.

Erbaugh said it is possible the man was homeless, as Walmart employees have reported some homeless people living in the area. 

Due to the state of decomposition, the department could not identify the man. The body will be taken for an autopsy, but Erbaugh said foul play is not suspected.
