Sheriff’s Office



— Deputies charged Israel Guzman, 30, of Tyler, with assault of a peace officer/judge at 8:06 a.m. Wednesday. Guzman was in Smith County Jail Wednesday and released the same day. He had a $50,000 bond.

— Deputies charged Desnique Dshawn Datral Herndon, 23, of Jacksonville, with burglary of a habitation at 3:58 p.m. Wednesday. Herndon was in Smith County Jail Wednesday and released the same day. He had a $60,000 bond.

— Deputies charged Phyllis Cardelia James, 37, of Tyler, with possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday. James was in Smith County Jail Wednesday and released the same day. She had bonds of $1,238 and $944.80.

— Deputies charged Kristopher Lawrence Jones, 19, of Tyler, with possession of a penalty group three controlled substance under 28 grams and two charges of possession of a dangerous drug at 12:36 a.m. Thursday. Jones was in Smith County Jail Thursday with bonds not set.

— Deputies charged Coulter Wells Luce, 39, of Lindale, with possession of a penalty group one controlled substance under a gram at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Luce was in Smith County Jail Wednesday and released the same day. He had a $15,000 bond.

— Deputies charged Brandon Osteen, 20, of Gladewater, with theft of a firearm at 6:26 p.m. Wednesday. Rusk County Sheriff’s Office issued the warrant. Osteen was in Smith County Jail Wednesday with a $1,000 bond.

— Deputies charged Savannah Cheyene Pergeson, 22, of Lincoln, Arkansas, with possession of marijuana under 2 ounces and two charges of possession of a penalty group two controlled substances under a gram at 10:17 p.m. Wednesday. Pergeson was in Smith County Jail Wednesday with bonds of $50,000, $5,000 and $1,000.

— Deputies charged Billy James Petty, 64, of Mineola, with possession of a penalty group one controlled substance under a gram at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Petty was in Smith County Jail Wednesday with a $50,000 bond.

— Deputies charged Jose Eduardo Pinal, 20, of Tyler, with property theft worth $2,500 to $30,000 at 9:44 a.m. Wednesday. Pinal was in Smith County Jail Wednesday and released the same day. He had a $15,000 bond.

— Deputies charged Robert Sells, 64, of Albanu, Oregon, with possession of a penalty group two controlled substance between 4 and 400 grams and possession of marijuana between 4 ounces and 5 pounds at 12:18 a.m. Thursday. Sells was in Smith County Jail Thursday with bonds of $20,000 and $10,000.

— Deputies charged Code Lee Taylor, 24, of Houma, Louisiana, with possession of a penalty group one controlled substance under a gram, tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair, failure to stop (stop-sign line), no driver’s license (unlicensed) and failure to appear at 11:19 p.m. Wednesday. Taylor was in Smith County Jail Wednesday with two bonds of $5,000 each and bonds of $812, $941 and $500.

— Deputies charged Jacob Bailey Wright, 25, of Longview, with three charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at 10:27 p.m. Wednesday. Wright was in Smith County Jail Wednesday without bond.

— Police charged Justin Gregory Brower, 33, of Tyler, with public intoxication at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday. Brower was in Smith County Jail Wednesday with a $500 bond.

— Police charged Edwin Duran, 31, of Tyler, with public intoxication at 6:14 a.m. Thursday. Duran was in Smith County Jail Thursday and released the same day. He had a $500 bond.

— Police charged Christian Steel Gilstrap, 21, of Tyler, with public intoxication and possession of marijuana under 2 ounces at 4:21 a.m. Thursday. Gilstrap was in Smith County Jail Thursday with two bonds of $500 each.

— Police charged Tadasha Doneshee Jones, 33, of Tyler, with assault causing bodily injury to a family member at 4:25 a.m. Thursday. Jones was in Smith County Jail Thursday with a $2,500 bond.

— Police charged Esteban Luviano, 37, of Tyler, with driving while intoxicated at 6:05 a.m. Thursday. Luviano was in Smith County Jail Thursday and released the same day. He had a $500 bond.

— Police charged Kaelah Janae Miller, 22, of Humble, with robbery at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday. Miller was in Smith County Jail Wednesday with a $5,000 bond.

— Police charged Daron Latray Neal, 21, of Rusk, with evading arrest with a vehicle at 10:47 p.m. Wednesday. Anderson County Sheriff’s Office issued the warrant. Neal was in Smith County Jail Wednesday and released Thursday. He had a $5,000 bond.

— Police charged John Garbett Page, 65, of Tyler, with public intoxication, criminal trespass and failure to identify/giving false/fictitious information at 4:30 a.m. Thursday. Page was in Smith County Jail Thursday with three bonds of $500 each.

— Troopers charged Darius Lamar Black, 28, of Tyler, with driving while intoxicated/open alcohol container, failure to maintain financial responsibility, two charges of driving with an invalid license and two charges of failure to appear at 9:28 a.m. Wednesday. Black was in Smith County Jail Wednesday with two bonds of $768 each, two bonds of $630 each and bonds of $901 and $500.

— Troopers charged Cy Mitchell Smith, 36, of Canton, with unlawful carrying of a weapon and possession of marijuana under 2 ounces at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday. Smith was in Smith County Jail Wednesday and released Thursday. He had two bonds of $500 each.

— Officers charged Jarred Marquise Paul Johnson, 23, of Tyler, with criminal mischief costing $2,500 to $30,000 at 10:58 p.m. Wednesday. Johnson was in Smith County Jail Wednesday with a bond not set.

— Officers charged Chester Reburn Lake, 65, of Jacksonville, with driving while intoxicated for the second time at 10:18 p.m. Wednesday. Lake was in Smith County Jail Wednesday with a $150,000 bond.

— Officers charged Kyle Brett Owens, 27, of Lindale, with possession of a penalty group one controlled substance between 1 and 4 grams (probation violation) at 10:42 p.m. Wednesday. Owens was in Smith County Jail Wednesday without bond.

— Officers charged Jim Weldon Taylor, 41, of Troup, with possession of a penalty group one controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams at 5:53 p.m. Wednesday. Taylor was in Smith County Jail Wednesday with a bond not set.
