43 indictments include 19-year-old Tyler man indicted for two July shootings

The Smith County Grand Jury returned 43 indictments in the latest session, including true bills in some high profile cases. 

A 19-year-old Tyler man suspected of two shootings in July was among 34 others indicted. 



Kadareawn Lee Mosley is the man accused of firing five rounds through a window at a home in the 3900 block of McDonald Road where a 13-year-old boy was struck by the gunfire.

Mosley is also suspected of shooting a man on Nutbush Avenue.

The victim was taken to the hospital by a group of residents after he was found slumped over in a vehicle with a gunshot wound.

Police said the shooting was over narcotics and money. Mosley was indicted on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony and theft of a firearm, a state-jail felony. 

The indictment list also includes another suspect in a gas pump skimmer case, a 17-year-old accused of aggravated sexual assault of a child, four co-defendants in an aggravated robbery case and a man accused of assaulting a Smith County deputy and attempting to take the officer’s service weapon.

The charges include 14 state-jail felonies, 14 third-degree felonies, eight second-degree felonies and seven first-degree felonies.  

Those indicted were:  

• Torry Dewayne Bailey, 40, of Tyler, two counts of possession of 1 gram but less than 4 grams of a controlled substance in penalty group 1      

• Katie Colleen Baker, 30, of Tyler, possession of 1 gram or less of a controlled substance in penalty group 1

• Dewey Dewayne Barrett, 46, of Dallas, assault of a family member or house member by impeding breath or circulation 

• Dayton Duan Brooks, 19, of Tyler, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon 

• Demetrus Deon Brown, 25, of Tyler, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon 

• Billy Joe Browning, 50, of Henderson, possession of 1 gram or less of a controlled substance in penalty group 1

• Kenneth Alan Carner, 56, of LaRue, assault of a public servant and attempt to take a weapon from an officer  

• Justin Ray Dunford, 17, of Tyler, aggravated sexual assault of a child 

• Yoslays Garcia-Torres, 34, of Channelview, fraudulent use and possession of identifying information 

• Natasha Luchana Gerald, 41, of Tyler, manufacture and delivery of 4 grams but less than 200 grams of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 

• Christopher Michael Hale, 19, of Fort Worth, aggravated robbery

• Nicholas Dominic Hampton, 21, of Tyler, aggravated robbery

• John Thomas Hopkins, 58, of Tyler, possession of 1 gram or less of a controlled substance in penalty group 1

• Kendric Lashawn Jackson, 20, of Tyler, harassment of a public servant 

• Chastity Dare Jernigan, 19, of Tyler, aggravated robbery

• Billy Ray Johnson, 58, of Tyler, two counts of possession of 1 gram or less of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 and tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair 

• Robin Angella Jones, 34, of Flint, possession of 1 gram or less of a controlled substance in penalty group 1

• Jermaine Lashone Kennedy, 26, of Whitehouse, assault of a public servant 

• Michael Edward Konieczny, 38, of Tyler, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle

• Dergio Rey Lemon, 17, of Tyler, theft of property valued at more than $2,500 but less than $30,000 

• Terry James Lennox, 37, of Tyler, possession of 1 gram or less of a controlled substance in penalty group 1

• Bradley Joseph Lewis, 31, of Tyler, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle 

• Antonio Sinclaire Murphy, 30, of Grand Prairie, forgery of a financial instrument 

• Christopher Blain O’Neal, 31, of Tyler, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle with previous conviction 

• James Ray Pendergraft, 56, of Tyler, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon 

• Ryan Joshua Pruitt, 19, of Lindale, possession of 4 grams but less than 400 grams of a controlled substance in penalty group 2

• Tevin Rashawn Roberts, 20, of Gladewater, assault of a family member or house member by impeding breath or circulation  

• Hayley Elizabeth Sherrod, 20, of Nacogdoches, aggravated robbery

• David Michael Stewart, 42, unauthorized use of a vehicle 

• Marlin George Welch, 63, of Brownsboro, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle

• David Lee Wiggins, 53, of Tyler, manufacture and delivery of 4 grams but less than 200 grams of a controlled substance in penalty group 1
