The 31st Beauty and the Beast Bicycle Tour took place in Bullard on Saturday.
Presented by the Tyler Bicycle Club, the event gave cyclists from near and far scenic views of East Texas as they rode various routes ranging from 10 to 67 miles.
Cyclists also got a chance to ride the beast, a stretch of road that features a steep incline known for being so challenging that some must get off their bikes and push them up the hill.
The event benefited the Tyler Junior College Promise Scholarship. The TJC Promise program gives students within the college’s tax district the opportunity to earn two years of tuition at the college if they perform well academically in high school and college, limit their number of missed school days, and take part in community service.
