Weston Fisher is Lindale ISD’s new director of bands, the district announced.
“I am blessed and honored to be trusted to follow Steven Moore as he retires after 34 years of dedicated service to Lindale ISD,” Fisher said. “That is quite a lineage and legacy with which I have been entrusted.”
Fisher said there is a fantastic team of directors in the Lindale band program.
“These directors, in addition to our fantastic students, outstanding band boosters, amazing community, and spectacular faculty, staff, and administration, will help to continue to move the Pride of Lindale Eagle Military Marching Band into the future and continue the legacy that the band has worked so hard for, for decades,” Fisher said.
Fisher began his career as the head junior high band director for Teague Junior High School before transitioning to Chapel Hill Junior High. He has served as the assistant band director for Lindale ISD since 2017.
“We are so excited about Mr. Fisher,” said Superintendent Stan Surratt. “The Lindale Band program has such a great legacy. Butch Almony and Steven Moore set the bar very high for great band directors and phenomenal band programs.”
Fisher earned a Bachelors of Music Summa Cum Laude and a Masters of Music in French Horn Performance and Conducting from Stephen F. Austin State University.
“We are very confident that Mr. Fisher will be the next great director for our Eagle Band. He has wonderful experience and he has been assisting Mr. Moore for the past seven years,” Surratt said. “Our band program will continue to be amazing.”
