Chapel Hill ISD is mourning the loss of a beloved student.

According to Superintendent Lamond Dean, Wise Elementary student Daniela Nevaeh Ramirez died in a car crash over Thanksgiving break.

A GoFundMe account has been set up for the Ramirez family to help with medical and funeral expenses. As of 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, more than $5,700 had been raised of the $10,000 goal. Visit bit.ly/ramirezgofundme to donate.

According to the GoFundMe page, Daniela was “full of life and love” and could steal your heart with her “sweet smile.”

According to Dean, the school trauma team of counselors met with Daniela’s closest friends and family this week.

“CHISD counselors are well prepared to assist both students and staff following such tragic incidents,” Dean said. “Thank you for your concern and your continued support for Wise Elementary. Please keep the Ramirez family and their close friends in your thoughts and prayers as they grieve this tragic loss.”

The GoFundMe page stated the crash happened as the family was traveling back to East Texas from Mexico.

Daniela’s father is still hospitalized due to his injuries, according to the GoFundMe.
