A regional Hackathon to benefit PetsFurPeople will take place Aug. 27 and 28 at the Tyler Public Library auditorium.
The Hackathon is the first such event to take place in East Texas and is hosted by Tyler Web Dev, a community of developers, programmers, designers and marketers passionate about the tech world.
“The technology industry presents a fantastic career opportunity for many East Texans,” said Logan Henson, Founder and President of Tyler Web Dev. “This is a launching point for a stronger community of developers and engineers here, and I’m excited to see strong support from well-known technology companies for this important event.”
Hackathon attendees will divided in different groups and develop code-based solutions to help PetsFurPeople operate more effectively. For example, attendees could develop a code that makes it easier for PetsFurPeople to monitor their dog’s shot records or a code to help the organization increase its effectiveness on social media.
The East Texas Hackathon is free to the public, as tech enthusiasts of all levels are invited. For more information on the Hackathon, or how to join Tyler Web Dev, visit www.tylerwebdev.io.
