EXCELLENCE

David and Stella Stein, of Stein Enterprises of Tyler (a franchise of Office Pride, commercial cleaning services) received Office Pride’s Standard of Excellence award as well as the Office Pride Million Dollar Club award. Standards of Excellence are awarded based on growth, customer retention, feedback and other factors. Shane Coleman of Stein Enterprises received the Employee of the Year award.



 

CONFERENCE

Claudia Carroll and Edward M. Moore, of Greater Tyler Association of REALTORS, attended the 2015 REALTORSᆴ Conference & Expo, where they had the opportunity to explore the latest innovative products and services just for real estate professionals. More than 400 exhibitors showcased offerings during the trade expo, the largest in real estate.

SEMINARS

Texas Spine and Joint Hospital, 1814 Roseland Blvd. in Tyler, will host two free seminars on Dec. 8 to help individuals reduce back or joint pain. The seminars will cover knee and hip pain at 9:30 a.m. and back and neck pain at 11:30 a.m. Seating is limited and reservations are required. TRAINING

Visit Tyler will host another Keepin’ Tyler Rosy Destination Training at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Tyler Chamber of Commerce. The training is free and open to the public. The program is a training designed to educate front line staff from local businesses on all Tyler has to offer to their clients and visitors as well as customer service training. SCHOLARSHIPS

Brookshire Grocery Co. announced a scholarship program through the FRESH 15K designed to award local graduating seniors for their dedication to the sport of running, teamwork, athletic achievements and outstanding academics. Coaches are encouraged to nominate runners by downloading and filling out the application form, which can be found online, then submitting it via email or mail. The application deadline is Feb. 1. DONATIONS

Through Dec. 22, all Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods and FRESH by Brookshire’s stores throughout Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas will be collecting donations of nonperishable food items, which will be donated to local service organizations and food pantries for distribution. Customers may also purchase pre-assembled “grab bags” for $5 or scan coupons for $1 or $5, which will be used to purchase additional food items.

The goal is to provide a week’s worth of food to approximately 15,000 families throughout BGC’s market area. Families will receive a box of nonperishable food items such as canned vegetables, rice and pasta, as well as a coupon for a free roasting hen.
