Local consulting groups honored by Forbes



Seamands & Sampson Wealth Consulting Group was recently named a Forbes America’s Best-In-State Wealth Management Team for 2023.

The team, of UBS Wealth Management firm, landed No. 23 on the list of North Texas firms honored by Forbes.

The Forbes rating is compiled by SHOOK Research and awarded annually in January, based on information from a 12-month period ending March of the prior year. Eligibility is based on quantitative factors and is not necessarily related to the quality of the investment advice.

“This team has been recognized for leading the way in providing exceptional experience for their clients,” the firm said in a press release. “This recognition is a testament not only to their talent but also to their ability to collaborate and problem-solve, always putting clients first and empowering them to pursue what matters most to them.”

The LMT Wealth Management Group, of Merrill Wealth Management, also landed as No. 10 on the list of North Texas firms. Team members include Gary Miller, Johnna Fullen, Le’Anne Southerland, Trey Lawson and Lisa New.

Other Tyler teams from the Merrill firm who made the list include: Meads Wealth Management (No. 55 on the list of North Texas teams) with team members Byron Meads, Timothy Meads, Andrew Meads and Jordan Meads Davis, Dickerson & Associates (No. 106 of North Texas firm teams) with Gregg Davis, Steven Craig Dickerson, Shannon Strickland, Holli Glass Shull, and Chelsea Dickerson Cooper Thompson Khalaf Group (No. 127 of North Texas firms) with Ray Thompson, Fred Khalaf and Chris Maloney.

The Cumming and Loggins Group, of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Firm, landed No. 122 of North Texas firms ranked on the list. Lee Alan Cumming and Les Loggins are the team members.

Trinity Capital Management, of Wells Fargo Advisors, ranked No. 101 on the list of North Texas firm teams with team members Stephen Mills, Hank Baker, Craig Conser, Brad Bays, and Jason Grigsby.

Altra to host a webinar for teens

Altra Federal Credit Union will host a Virtual Teens and Money Webinar on the Psychology of Spending on Feb. 29, from 6 to 7 p.m.

This webinar is interactive and will focus on understanding the psychological aspect of why people make the decisions they do with their money and what to keep in mind when making purchases. When spending is just as easy as tapping a card or clicking checkout, people need to understand what drives them to purchase.
