UT Tyler’s ‘Dovetails’ runs through April 17

The University of Texas at Tyler Meadows Gallery is presenting “Dovetails,” an art exhibition featuring work by UT Tyler professor of art James R. Pace and UT Tyler alumna Philana Oliphant.

The show is on view in the Meadows Art Gallery inside the R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center through April 17, the announcement said.



Pace has exhibited art since 1976, and he has received numerous awards for his painting, drawings, prints and mixed media work. He serves as a juror, lecturer and visiting artist throughout the United States and foreign countries. He holds a bachelor of fine arts from the University of Oklahoma and a master of fine arts from Arizona State University.

Oliphant has exhibited work for more than 25 years. She teaches drawing, three-dimensional design and art appreciation courses at Tyler Junior College. Her work is in several museum collections and she has received numerous honors. Oliphant holds a bachelor’s degree in printmaking, sculpture and drawing from UT Austin and a bachelor of fine arts from UT Tyler.
