alter Bond believes in personal accountability. He says that only when people are ready to take full responsibility for their lives can they achieve success.
A former professional basketball player, Bond will share his philosophy as keynote speaker at the Bright Ideas for Leadership and Success conference in Tyler this year.
Presented by East Texas Center for Nonprofits and Express Employment Professionals, the conference addresses issues of leadership for businesses and nonprofits. Topics include everything from organizational planning to better public relations. It is set for Nov. 6 at Green Acres Baptist Church’s CrossWalk Conference Center.
After playing in the NBA for the Dallas Mavericks, Bond launched a successful career as a motivational speaker. He is known for giving listeners the tools to harness confidence and deliver results.
According to information on his website, Bond draws on lessons he learned in the trenches in sales and as an entrepreneur.
“Walter’s stories are rich with humor, emotions and au-thentic breakthroughs,” promotional material said. “His inventive phrasing, mannerisms, body language, pacing and wisdom exert a powerful effect on his audiences, making his message memorable.”
Also set to speak are retired Gen. James Anderson, who served in the Army for 40 years before becoming a leadership consultant, and Jack Smalley, the director of human relations for Express Employment Professionals.
