“The foundation appreciates the sponsors and teams that helped make our 13th annual Kyle Lake Memorial Golf Tournament a success. We had an outstanding turnout with 31 teams participating,” tournament chair Jim Rex said.

Established as a nonprofit organization in March 2007, the Kyle Lake Foundation exists to memorialize the former pastor of University Baptist Church in Waco.

The author of two books, “Understanding God’s Will” and “(RE)Understanding Prayer,” Lake, who was born and raised in Tyler, impacted thousands for Christ with his Christ-centered life, contagious personality and effective communication style, according to a news release.

He was electrocuted on Oct. 30, 2005, before 800 worshippers while preparing to baptize a former Baylor University student.
