FAITH BRIEFS: Greater St. Mary to host health fair today

Greater St. Mary Baptist Church will have a Community Health Fair from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at 1615 Texas College Road. The free event will include free health screenings, immunizations, informational exhibits, presentations and more. Call 903-592-3774 for more information.

 



WILLOWBROOK BAPTIST SING-ALONG AND CELEBRATION

Willowbrook Baptist Church, 3100 W. Erwin St., in Tyler, will have an old-fashioned sing-along at 7 p.m. Saturday and celebrate and honor former pastors Donald L. Ledbetter, Leaon Griswold and Bob Logan at 10 a.m. Sunday.

DESTINY CHANGERS WORD CENTER 

‘EXPERIENCE GOD AND HIS PRESENCE’

Destiny Changers Word Center, 1100 W. Fifth St., in Tyler, will present “Experiencing the Kingdom of God and His Presence” at 7 p.m. Saturday and 10:15 a.m. Sunday. Pastor Bill Byers is the scheduled guest speaker. Destiny Changers is a spirit-filled ministry that started as a prayer group among Jacksonville seminary students in 2006, according to its website. It is led by Pastor Patrice Anaab.

 

FIRST ASSEMBLY OF GOD SPORTS DAY IN WHITEHOUSE

Whitehouse First Assembly of God will have Sports Day 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The church will give away Dallas Cowboys tickets and encourages people to wear their favorite team’s jersey. Football players and coaches from Southwestern Assemblies of God University will be in attendance.

 

FAIRVIEW BAPTIST ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Fairview Baptist Church on Texas Highway 110 North will recognize its pastor, the Rev. Zeb Cantley, and his wife, on their 10th anniversary at the church at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Carl George, of Macedonia Baptist Church, is the scheduled speaker.

 

ST. JAMES MISSIONARY BAPTIST ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 1020 S. Lyons Ave., in Tyler, will have its 103rd anniversary celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday. Dr. Maurice McMillon, pastor of Greater Shiloh Baptist Church, is the scheduled guest speaker. Dinner will be served.

CALVARY ASSEMBLY OF GOD FREE FALL FESTIVAL

Calvary Assembly of God Church, 1723 E. Front St., in Tyler, will have its Fall Festival from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 10. The free event will include carnival games with prizes for all ages, live music with maracas for everyone, popcorn, hot dogs, snow cones, sword fighting and bingo.
