College student Spring Break activities near Tyler

For those of you who won’t be beach-bound for Spring Break or enjoying the comfort of your parent’s home (and full refrigerator) but instead will be spending the week here in Tyler, don’t fret. There are more forms of entertainment to keep you occupied than you may think! Whether you are looking to get outside and enjoy the outdoors during the day, partake in recreational activities inside or even enjoy good music and food during the evening, you have options.
Here is a list of a few places you can check out during the week here in Tyler and surrounding areas.
G-Force:
If you are looking to get particularly active, you should definitely consider visiting Longview’s new recreational complex: G-Force Indoor Trampoline and Karting Complex.
G-Force, having recently opened on March 3, offers a number of different recreational activities for all age groups. The complex features an indoor go-kart track, trampoline areas that include basketball hoops, a ninja park, a parents’ lounge and more!
G-Force will be open from 11 AM until 9 PM, Monday through Thursday and 10 AM until 10 PM, Friday and Saturday.

Longview Paintball:
Another opportunity in Longview that is great if you are out with a group of friends is a visit to the Longview Paintball fields. This spot features about eight different fields all designed based on different scenarios. See where your shooting skills are through various exciting challenges.
Longview Paintball is open from 9 AM until 6 PM on Saturday and from 12 PM until 6 PM on Sunday. If you would like to visit during the week, you must have at least 10 people and make an appointment ahead of time.
Grab some friends, grab some gear and have at it!
New York, Texas ZipLine Adventures:
For the ones on the more adventurous side, if you would like to try your hand at zip lining, there is an excellent tour located about 40 minutes away in the community of New York. This is a thrilling way for you to experience the beautiful landscapes, as well as wildlife, of East Texas from the highest elevations.
Tours are available for ages five and up and last about one and a half to two hours.

Dogwood Hills Gun Club:
For all of the gun lovers out there, just right down the road in Flint is a family-friendly firearm facility. Dogwood Hills features an outdoor gun range and archery park that includes many different courses and classes ranging from private instruction to advanced training.

Tiger Creek:
If you are looking for something similar but a little bit different than a normal zoo trip, feel free to visit Tiger Creek Wildlife Refugee. Located right here in Tyler, Tiger Creek features over 40 rescued Tigers. This is a great facility that is providing much-needed care and rehabilitation for these previously abused big cats.
Tiger Creek provides an educational experience as well as an enjoyable outing. There are guided tours available and you are also welcome to walk around and enjoy the tigers on your own. Also, during the week, there will be a curbside taco truck available, along with face painting activities.

Tyler State Park:
And don’t forget about the state park. If the weather is nice, this will most likely be a popular spot over the break. The Tyler State Park presents plenty of different outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, swimming in the lake, camping, boating, golfing and more! There are also different events scheduled throughout the week such as survival hikes, exploration and educational activities. So, if you’re one who enjoys nature this might be the perfect destination for yourself or with a group of friends.

Juls:

This is definitely a place to consider if you’re looking for a little change of scenery from a typical night out at a bar or lounge. Pinot’s Palette is an art studio located here in Tyler that combines creating art and enjoying your favorite glass of wine. Regardless of your painting skill level, this is an activity everyone can enjoy.
Whether you are by yourself, on a date or with a group of friends, this is guaranteed to provide an enjoyable evening.
