Smith County Master Gardeners begins its East Texas Lecture Series on Saturday with a presentation by David Gary, the organization announced.

Gary continues gardening despite that muscular dystrophy has restricted him to a wheelchair. His garden, which he designed, enables him to enjoy his hobby.

“This inspirational program shows how to easily design your landscape to fit any limitations,” according to information form event promoters.

The program begins at 9 a.m. at Rose Garden Center, 420 Rose Park Drive. The cost is $15. Registration will open at 8:30 a.m.

The series continues with presentation on Oct. 25 and Nov. 15.

On Oct. 25 Greg Grant will speak on “Forgotten and Underutilized Plants for East Texas.” On Nov. 15 Dave Creech will speak on “Japanese Maples and Adapted Trees for Every Landscape.”
