Gail & John White

Mr. and Mrs. John White of Tyler will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on February 14.

John White and Gail Hudson were married on February 14, 1959, at the First Presbyterian Church in Tyler, Texas. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Sherrard Rice, followed by a wedding reception held at Willow Brook Country Club. John and Gail met on a blind date in July of 1958, which had been arranged by friends Carole and Fred Haberle. They were engaged three weeks later and married the following Valentine’s Day. They made their home in Jacksonville from 1959 until 1994, when they moved to Tyler to be closer to family.

The couple has four children; Bennett White of Tyler, Brandi and Hudson White of Frisco, Victoria and Jerry Ashworth of Houston, and Harriet White of Phoenix, Arizona. They also have eight grandchildren; J.B. White, Ben Ashworth, Henry White, Sadie White, Anne White, Olivia White, Daniel White, and Katherine Ashworth.
