Tyler’s Derrick McFall decommits from UCLA

Derrick McFall, Tyler High’s four-star athlete, told the Tyler Morning Telegraph on Monday he has decommitted from UCLA.
He added the Bruins are still on his list, along with Kansas State, Missouri, SMU and UTSA.

McFall has already visited UCLA and SMU, but he has an official visit to Missouri scheduled for Dec. 15. Visits to Kansas State and UTSA are being lined up.
McFall had a standout senior season for the Lions, making 48 catches for 818 yards and nine touchdowns. He played two game at running back, rushing for 128 yards and two TDs on 16 carries.
The speedster was also a threat on returns, both on kickoffs and punts, averaging 28 yards per kickoff return.
“I’ll be decommitting from UCLA because I feel like it’s the best choice for me and my family,” McFall told On3. “I like UCLA, but I feel like it doesn’t fit me outside of football.”
McFall is a four-star prospect ranked No. 369 overall in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the cycle’s No. 12 athlete and No. 62 recruit from Texas.

TJC’s Kaden McMahan, a 6-3, 215-pound freshman linebacker/safety from Austin, has committed to TCU.
He made the announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter.
McMahan, a graduate of Liberty Hill High School, had 29 tackles on the season. He played in seven games for the Apaches.
