Late scores lift Navasota by Lndale

HEWITT — Navasota scored two touchdowns with under two minutes on the clock as the Rattlers rallied for a 56-45 win over the Lindale Eagles in a Class 4A Division I area football playoff game on Friday at Panther Stadium.
Navsota won its fifth consecutive game to improve to 7-5. The Rattlers will now play Kilgore next week in regionals.
The Eagles end their season at 6-6.
Lindale took a 45-42 lead with 3:03 of the fourth quarter when Seth Baggett booted a 34-yard field goal.
The Eagles were driving for a TD when there was a fumble that bounded back from the 5-yard line to the 17. In a scramble for the football, Landon Hernandez out-fought the Rattlers to recover the football.
Baggett then kicked the field goal.
After the kickoff, Navasota faced a fourth-and-9 but converted when QB Jace Jablonski hit Xavier Blackshear for 23 yards to the Eagles 45 for a first down.
Then with 1:31 on the clock, Jablonski scrambled and found the end zone from 34 yards. Giovanni Perez made the PAT for a 49-45 lead.
After turnover, the Rattlers’ Cameron Burrell scored on a 10-yard run with 48 seconds showing. Perez’s extra point put the score at 56-45.
Caleb Hart scored three touchdowns for the Eagles on runs of 3, 6 and 2 yards.
Baggett made six PATs and the field goal.
After Hudson Legrow recovered an onside kick attempt, Lindale’s A’millon Johnson scored on a 47-yard run. Baggett’s PAT tied the game at 14-14.
Lindale went on top 21-14 after David Lindig hit Aiden Warnell for a 3-yard TD pass.
After the Rattlers went on top 35-21 in the third quarter, Hart scored on a 6-yard run after Matthew Kenney recovered a fumble.
Later, Jackson Legrow picked off a pass to set up another TD. Hart was about to score and fumbled, but Hayden Gateley recovered in the end zone for a TD to tie the game at 35-35.
With 11:29 on the clock in the fourth quarter, Hart found the end zone on a 2-yard dash. Baggett’s PAT gave the Eagles a 42-35 lead.
Navasota tied the game at 42-42 as Daquan Pratt hauled his third TD pass, a 78-yarder. He also had TD catches of 63 and 76 yards.
