East Texas girls win state powerlifting titles

Multiple area powerlifters took first-place finishes in the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association state meet at Edinburg’s Bert Ogden Arena.
Lindale’s Madison Frazier took the top spot in the 132-pound class in Class 4A Division 1 with a total of 1,000 pounds (400 squat, 250 bench, 350 deadlift).
Lindale’s Regan Wooten also won gold, taking the top spot in the 181-pound class in Class 4A Division 1 with a total of 1,020 pounds (385 squat, 275 bench, 360 deadlift).
Rusk’s Claire Tipton repeated as the state champion in the 148-pound class in Class 4A Division 2 with a total of 1,060 pounds (385 squat, 290 bench, 385 deadlift).
Winnsboro’s Kyilee McMullen took first place in the 148-pound class in Class 3A Division 1 with a total of 1,015 pounds (415 squat, 215 bench, 385 deadlift).
Palestine Westwood’s Cora Osei Adjei won the 242-pound plus class in Class 3A Division 1 with a total of 1,245 pounds (515 squat, 305 bench, 425 deadlift).
Elkhart’s Addison Boren won the 181-pound class in Class 3A Division 2 with a total of 1,020 pounds (440 squat, 245 bench, 335 deadlift).
Arp’s Presley Johnson placed second in the 105-pound class in Class 3A Division 2 with a total of 665 pounds (245 squat, 190 bench, 230 deadlift).
Troup’s Tayla Davis placed second in the 198-pound class in Class 3A Division 2 with a total of 945 pounds (365 squat, 205 bench, 375 deadlift).
Palestine Westwood’s Amani Tinnion placed second in the 220-pound class in Class 3A Division 1 with a total of 1,000 pounds (410 squat, 205 bench, 385 deadlift).
Bullard’s Aalyah Ayers placed third in the 198-pound class in Class 4A Division 2 with a toal of 955 pounds (400 squat, 175 bench, 380 deadlift).
Mineola’s Zion Olajide placed third in the 220-pound class in Class 3A Division 1 with a total of 990 pounds (400 squat, 265 bench, 325 deadlift).
Elkhart’s Milly Orzechowski placed third in the 105-pound class in Class 3A Division 2 with a total of 660 pounds (250 squat, 140 bench, 270 deadlift).
Chapel Hill’s Raniyah Suell placed fourth in the 220-pound class in Class 4A Division 1 with a total of 1,005 pounds (390 squat, 265 bench, 350 deadlift).
Mabank’s Lindsey Cope placed fifth in the 123-pound class in Class 4A Division 1 with a total of 720 pounds (315 squat, 200 bench, 305 deadlift).
Lindale’s Sophia Galysh was sixth in the 165-pound class in Class 4A Division 1 with a total of 915 pounds (380 squat, 215 bench, 320 deadlift).
Chapel Hill’s Madison Bradshaw placed sixth in the 97-pound class in Class 4A Division 1 with a 565-pound total (215 squat, 125 bench, 225 deadlift).
