Chapel Hill running back Rickey Stewart commits to Texas

Chapel Hill High School Class of 2025 running back Rickey Stewart Jr. committed to the University of Texas on Saturday while on his visit to the campus this weekend in Austin.
The move was first reported by Justin Wells of InsideTexas.
Stewart (5-10, 180) was originally committed to SMU but decommitted from the Mustangs on Jan. 31.
Stewart carried the ball 271 times for 2,856 yards and 40 touchdowns this season, helping the Bulldogs reach the Class 4A Division I title game. Stewart also had 18 catches for 284 yards and four touchdowns.
He was named the Tyler Morning Telegraph All-Rose Country Football Team Player of the Year.
Stewart, a four-star prospect, is the No. 197-ranked recruit and No. 15 running back by On3Sports.
Along with the Longhorns and Mustangs, Stewart had many offers including from Baylor, Alabama, Arkansas, Houston, Michigan, Missouri, TCU, Oregon, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas Tech, among others.
