2024 Tyler Morning Telegraph All-Rose Country Boys Soccer Team

There were several standout performers on the soccer pitch in the area for the 2024 high school soccer season.

To highlight those individuals for their efforts, we are presenting the Tyler Morning Telegraph All-Rose Country Boys Soccer Team.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Most Popular

Knox Hicks, Tyler Legacy, senior: He scored 26 goals and had 11 assists for the Class 6A Region II semifinalist. Hicks was the District 10-6A Offensive Player of the Year and was first-team all-state in Class 6A. He has signed with Tyler Junior College.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Alejandro Martinez, Brook Hill, senior: He scored 56 goals and had 12 assists to lead the Guard to the TAPPS Winter Soccer Division III state title.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Brady Filla, Tyler Legacy, senior: He was an all-state defender for the Class 6A Region II semifinalist. He was also the Tyler Legacy High School Class of 2024 valedictorian, and he was the winner of the Best Preps Tyler Going the Extra Mile award.

GOALKEEPER OF THE YEAR

Beaux Benson, Whitehouse, senior: Benson is an all-region first team goalkeeper who has signed with Lubbock Christian University. He picked up 15 wins with 13 shutouts.

NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR

Landen Russell, Palestine Westwood, freshman: The high school rookie started at goalkeeper for the Panthers and had 94 saves, including two in penalty shootouts that gave Westwood a chance to play for a playoff spot as a Class 3A school in a Class 4A district.

COACH OF THE YEAR

David Collins, Brook Hill: He led the Guard to a 21-1-1 record and the TAPPS Winter Soccer Division III state title.

FIRST TEAM

Axel Ruben, Tyler Legacy, junior: 8 goals, 6 assists in 10 games before tearing ACL for Class 6A Region II semifinalist.

Marlon Rataj, Brook Hill, senior: 22 goals, 16 assists for TAPPS Division III state champions.

Javier Gavito, Brook Hill, sophomore: 4 goals, 2 assists as defender for defense that allowed eight goals all season and zero goals in playoffs for TAPPS Division III state champions.

Taki Kadi, Whitehouse, senior: 19 goals, District 15-5A Offensive MVP, all-region first team forward.

Will Locknane, Lindale, junior: 20 goals, 9 assists, District 14-4A MVP.

Luis Ramirez, Lindale, senior: 22 goals, 5 assists.

Tony Sanchez, Palestine, sophomore: 49 goals, 23 assists.

Reece Garcia, Palestine, sophomore: 37 goals, 24 assists.

Leandro Yzaguirre, Kilgore, senior: 4 goals, 3 assists, 18 shutouts as defender for Class 4A state semifinalist; Liberty University signee.

Diego Rojas, Kilgore, senior: 25 goals, 11 assists for Class 4A state semifinalist.

Christian Pous, Brook Hill, goalkeeper, junior: 96 percent save percentage, 4 goals allowed all season for TAPPS Division III state champions.

SECOND TEAM

Jaron Wilkerson, Tyler Legacy, senior: 7 goals, 9 assists for Class 6A Region II semifinalist.

Diego Castillo, Tyler Legacy, senior: 5 goals, 6 assists in 8 games at forward after moving from defender for Class 6A Region II semifinalist.

Mio Engvist, Brook Hill, senior: 13 goals, 8 assists for TAPPS Division III state champions.

Danylo Kucheruk, Grace Community, senior: All-district forward/midfielder.

Javier Gonzalez, Whitehouse, junior: District 15-5A Midfielder of the Year, all-region midfielder.

Alejandro Cardoza, Lindale, junior: 21 goals, 4 assists.

Juan Lopez, Palestine, junior: 16 goals, 21 assists.

Jonathan Trejo, Palestine Westwood, senior: 14 goals, 10 assists, District 16-4A MVP.

Francisco Perez, Sabine, junior: 20 goals, 18 assists.

Jesus Duran, Sabine, sophomore: 37 goals, 11 assists.

Chris Martinez, Kilgore, goalkeeper, senior: 64 saves, 18 shutouts, 20 goals allowed for Class 4A state semifinalist.

THIRD TEAM

David Chavez, Tyler Legacy, sophomore: 4 assists for defender for Class 6A Region II semifinalist.

Andres Casillas, Grace Community, junior: All-district defender/midfielder.

Conner Emery, Grace Community, senior: all-state and all-district forward.

Aaron Cerda, Whitehouse, senior: All-district defender.

Braxton Ladwig, Whitehouse, junior: All-district midfielder.

Sebastian Juarez, Jacksonville, junior: District 16-4A Forward of the Year.

JJ Cabrera, Jacksonville: District 16-4A Defender of the Year.

Rico Avila, Palestine, senior: senior: All-state defender.

Jobani Chavez, Kilgore, senior: 3 goals, 5 assists, 18 shutouts as defender for Class 4A state semifinalist.

Luke Kirkindoll, Sabine, senior: 5 goals, 1 assists, 11 clean sheets as center back; Northeast Texas Community College commit.

Davy Smith, Jacksonville, goalkeeper, senior: District 16-4A Goalkeeper of the Year.
