Meet and greet with local candidates set Saturday in Whitehouse

WHITEHOUSE — Texas Action Alliance will host a Meet The Candidates event this weekend.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Whitehouse City Park, the organization invites voters for a “fun and informative” meet and greet with local candidates. The candidates will discuss their “local and state positions on the issues and why they should earn you vote.”
Attendees can also visit with local Republican organizations which will provide information on how to get involved.
Candidates attending include, Judge Sara Maynard (Smith County Court at Law No. 2); Smith County Precinct 4 Constable Josh Joplin; Smith County Commissioner Precinct 1 Pam Frederick; Smith County Commissioner Precinct 3 candidate Rusty Smith; Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith and opponent Chris Green; Lauren Langas, Precinct 3 chair candidate; and Shannon Mercer, Precinct 42 chair candidate.
The Texas Action Alliance empowers people to use their voices and “make it matter.”
The organization “mobilizes, equips, and empowers patriots who are committed to keeping Texas red,” according to its Facebook page.
“Our mission is to provide training and support by teaching the simple, actionable ‘next steps’ needed to advance the conservative agenda,” the group states on its Facebook page.
The Whitehouse City Park is located at 309 E. Main St. in Whitehouse.
