The city of Tyler still has four openings on various boards that advise the City Council.

The city has a single seat on the following boards: Zoning Board of Adjustments, Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals, the Parks Board and the Historical Preservation Board.

To serve on a board or commission, applicants must live inside the Tyler city limits and cannot be delinquent on city taxes or utilities, according to the city. Applicants also cannot have any pending claims against the city. Some specialized boards have additional requirements. The positions are unpaid, and members serve two-year terms.

Anyone interested in serving can download an application online at https://www.cityoftyler.org/Departments/CityClerk/BoardsCommission.aspx.

They also can be picked up at the city clerk’s office in City Hall, 212 N. Bonner Ave., or applicants can call the clerk’s office at 903-531-1106 to have an application faxed or mailed.
