Jim Kerbow is the new defensive coordinator for Robert E. Lee, replacing Shane Anderson, who left after one year to take the same position at Waco Midway.
Kerbow comes to Tyler after a year at Class 3A Columbus and stops at A&M Consolidated and Rockdale before that.
“He’s a 3-4 guy and one of those who’s moving up in the (coaching world) and is going to be a good one,” Lee coach Darrell Piske said about his new coordinator.
Kerbow will begin his 13th year as coach, with nearly all of those on the defensive side of the ball. Last year at Columbus, the Cardinals went 3-7, but in 2011, Kerbow helped guide Rockdale to the area round of the Class 3A playoffs.
Kerbow will try and improve a Lee defense that allowed 35.7 points per game last season.
