All Saints beats Midland Christian to earn trip to state tournament

BROCK — The All Saints Trojans are headed to the state baseball tournament.
Raul Martinez struck out eight and Jayden Terres had two RBIs to help power the Trojans to a 4-1 win over Midland Christian in a TAPPS Division II regional baseball game on Thursday at the Brock High School diamond.
All Saints (20-6) will play district rival Bullard Brook Hill (16-7) in the state semifinals, while Houston Lutheran South (29-7) will meet San Antonio Christian (18-9).
The state tournament is scheduled for Crosby, near Houston. The state semifinals are set for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesday with the state championship at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Martinez, who recently signed with Le-Tourneau University, threw all seven innings, allowing six hits and one run. He walked one.
Levi McCasland led the Trojans with two hits, while Terres had a double. Johnny Ceccoli and Martinez added singles.
Along with Terres’s two RBIs, Jacob Roberts and Braden Wheat each had RBIs. Scoring runs were Tanner Towns (2), Sully Mc-Creery and Jack Pogue.
Hunter Robertson had a double for the Mustangs with Rhett Clark, Zac Tilton, Quinn Kenney, Dakota Snyder and Josh Brown adding singles. Kenney had an RBI.
Brook Hill advanced with a 2-0 series win over Fort Worth All Saints. The Guard won 3-2 and 4-2.
Houston Lutheran South defeated Houston Second Baptist 3-2, while San Antonio Christian downed Sugar Land Fort Bend Christian, 8-2.
