BULLARD — Bullard dropped its regular season finale to Hudson, 66-61, but with Center’s 45-36 loss to Madisonville, the Panthers still captured the outright District 17-4A championship.

Bullard finished in first place ahead of Center and Madisonville, both 7-3, and Hudson (6-4).

Layne Alexander poured in 26 points for Bullard, hitting five 3-pointers in the first half. Luke Alexander scored 10 points.

Other scorers for Bullard were Caden Cummings 8; Tyler Lamberth 6; Campbell Pawlak 6; and Drake Thigpen 5.

Cooper Weeks led Hudson with 25 points. Landon Greer scored 15 points, and Ceylan Williams had 13.

Bullard (25-8, 8-2) will open the Class 4A Division I playoffs against Lumberton at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Huntington.
