The Christmas parade in Tyler on Nov. 30, 2017, drew thousands. People came to watch the parade and see the Christmas tree light up on T.B. Butler Fountain Plaza.

“A Christmas Carol: Scrooge & Marley”

Tyler Junior College will present “A Christmas Carol: Scrooge & Marley” Nov. 28 to Dec. 2 at the college’s Wise Auditorium.

The play is an adaption by Israel Horovitz of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” the heart-warming story of a man who learns to appreciate others.

Tyler Rotary Christmas Parade

The Tyler Rotary Christmas Parade steps off at 6 p.m. on a route around the downtown square. Immediately following the parade will be a gathering on T.B. Butler Fountain Plaza that will end with the lighting of the community Christmas tree.

“The Nutcracker”

Tyler Junior College Dance Academy and East Texas Symphony Orchestra are combining to bring “The Nutcracker” ballet.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of performance. To celebrate this milestone, the music will be performed live by the East Texas Symphony Orchestra.

The cast will feature more than 100 performers. Dancers with the Pennsylvania Ballet will be in the roles of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.

Performances are set for 2 and 7:30 p.m. at the University of Texas at Tyler’s Cowan Center. Tickets are available through the Cowan Center.

“A Motown Christmas”

The Tyler Civic Theater is infusing soul into “A Motown Christmas,” a show featuring performers recreating the look and sound of Motown stars singing holiday classics. Performances are set for Dec. 7-9 and 13-16. Tickets: tylercivic theatre.com and 903-592-0561.
