HARVEY CONVENTION CENTER | 33RD CONSIGNMENT SALE

Saturday is the final day for shoppers to find bargains at the CCC Sale at Harvey Convention Center in Tyler.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. many of the thousands of consignment items including children’s clothes, toys, baby items, furniture and home decor will be 50 percent off prices that are already discounted from their retail value.

This is the 33rd sale. What began as the Children’s Clothing Consignment Sale has grown over 16 years.

Rachel Spivey of Tyler shopped with her son Carson, 1, and her friend Pam Schmidt who was visiting from out-of-state.

“I came here for toys, but now I’m in the clothing section,” Spivey said. “This sale is amazing, especially for moms with newborns.”

Tess Murphy, co-organizer of the event and founder, said she came up with the idea for a shop and swap style event in 2002 when her daughter wanted an expensive brand of jeans

and consignment stores in the area were limited at the time.

She didn’t want to start her own brick and mortar store, but the idea to start out with 100 families selling their items for one week in one place worked. Now anywhere from 1,000 to 1,400 families sell their items at the CCC Sale. They have the option to keep their items at the end of the sale or donate them locally to charity.

The next sale will be held in April. Families wishing to get involved can find more information at www.cccsale.com.
