Tai Chi in the Park

Tai Chi in the Park will be held at Pollard Park at 9 a.m. on Saturdays Sept. 22, Sept. 29, Oct. 6 and Oct. 13. 

The event is free and is hosted by Tyler Kung Fu & Fitness.

Often referred to as the Dance for Life and Moving Meditation, tai chi is an ancient Chinese art known for its soft, rhythmic, purposeful movements that are low-impact, and is kind to the knees, hips and joints, thus allowing people of all fitness levels to benefit from its practice.

Gardening With Daylilies



East Texas Daylily Society will give a presentation on Gardening With Daylilies at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, in the Azalea Room at Tyler Rose Garden Center, 420 Rose Park Drive. Admission is free.

East Texas Daylily Society is a nonprofit organization affiliated with the American Daylily Society.

John Tyler Class of 1968 50th reunion

Festivities for the 50th reunion of John Tyler High School’s Class of 1968 will begin at 7 p.m. Oct. 5 at The Grove, 3500 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler.

There will be a dinner and ‘60s music at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 at The Cascades Clubhouse, 4511 Briarwood Road.

Tickets cost $60 and include both nights and need to be purchased in advance by mailing a check payable to JTHS Class of 1968 to P.O. Box 88, Chandler, 75758.
