Services for Linda L. Walker, 70 of Tyler, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church with Bro. Shane Ogdie and Francisco “Pancho” Maya officiating, under direction of Jackson’s Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Kendrick Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jackson’s Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Linda went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 13, 2018 in Tyler. She was born January 8, 1948 in Pottstown, PA to the late Earle Theadore and Joyce Leona Miller Filby. She has lived in Tyler since 1973 and was loving Housewife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She lived her life to serve the Lord and she also lived for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church, however she recently has been attending Lonestar Cowboy Church in Red Oak with her daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse R. Walker; a son, Cecil Wilkins and by a brother, Earle “Teddy” Filby, Jr.; a granddaughter, Karen Mudgett and grandson, David Jesse Walker.

Survivors include a son, David Walker and wife, Irma of Tyler; three daughters, Cecilia Moseley and husband, Loyd of Ferris, Ollie Griffin and husband, Gene of Waskom and Catherine Wilkins Burton of Tyler; two brothers, Earnest Filby and Carl Filby both of Grand Prairie; sister, Barbara Wheeler of Tyler and 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
