Summer celebrations at the Woods Baptist Church

The Woods Baptist Church, 4502 University Drive, Tyler, will present the first of four Summer Celebrations at the Woods from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Speaker will be Pastor Sam DeVille of Flint Baptist Church. Music will be brought by Billy Johnson, worship pastor at Flint Baptist Church.
Testimony will be brought by Ed Broussard, city manager of Tyler.

Father’s Day program
Bethany Word of Life Tabernacle, 6808 Paluxy Drive, in Tyler, will have its Father’s Day program at 10 a.m. Sunday on the church campus. The scheduled guest speaker will be Brother Carl Brown Jr., son of inspirational speaker, Sister Pat Brown. The event is free and open to the public. Grand opening and dedication of New Family Life Center
New Life Worship Center, 18535 Highway 69 South, Tyler, will host its grand opening and dedication service for the new Family Life Center from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 24.
The event is free and a free lunch will be provided to attendees.
This new two-story Family Life Center with over 30,000 square feet houses a new youth center, additional classroom space, a large gymnasium with multiple basketball courts, and locker rooms with showers. The Family Life Center provides facilities for family, student, and children’s ministries to grow and expand as well as serves as a great host venue for various community events and activities.
David Phelps concert
David Phelps will be at New Life Worship Center, 18535 Highway 69 South at 7 p.m. July 29.
Ticket for the concert will be VIP, $50; Artist Circle, $35; and General Admission, $25. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Blood Drive scheduled

The Erwins and Joseph Habedank coming to Palestine
First Baptist Church of Palestine will host gospel music artists “The Erwins” on July 1. The group will sing at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
The Erwins will be joined at 5 p.m. by soloist, Joseph Habedank, to present the “Resurrection of Faith Tour.” Admission to all events is free and a love offering will be received. The church will have an ice cream fellowship following the evening concert.
Church pastor Tony Watson says “Both of these artists are top-notch in their own right, but when they get together, something special happens. I have personally seen this event twice and it just keeps getting better. These artists have the same goals in mind and are incredibly talented, which provides for a high-quality music as well as ministry-focused presentation.”

Fireworks show
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 13590 Highway 110 South, will host its annual fireworks show beginning at 6:30 p.m. July 3. Hot dogs, watermelon and water will be provided free to the community while supplies last. Fireworks show will begin at dusk.
This year will feature a tribute to the military, live music by Country Band “6 Miles to Mixon,” illusionist David Gish performing shows in the Kidstreet Theatre, bounce houses, Pokey O’s, Kona Ice, and more.
Parking is free but limited. Come early to get a place on the parking lot.
David Phelps will bring his “Journey of Faith” tour
New Life Worship Center, 18535 Highway 69 South, will feature David Phelps, a Dove and Grammy Award winner, at 7 p.m. July 29. Phelps, will bring his “Journey of Faith” tour to Tyler.
He has performed at the White House, New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House in Australia.

Super Summer second Sunday singing
Three gospel concerts are scheduled for Holly Brook Baptist Church, Hawkins. All will take place in the Sunday evening worship service, beginning at 6 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month.
The Hatz Southern Gospel Quartet from Cottonwood Creek of Allen will perform on Sunday.
On July 8, Holly Brook’s own Celebration Choir will present “Turn Your Radio On,” a concert of hymns from the ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s.
On Aug. 12, Swearingen & Swearingen will lead worship in song ranging from Southern gospel to contemporary.
