TxDOT begins collecting traffic data in Tyler District

The Texas Department of Transportation began conducting traffic counts Monday at 6,400 locations in the Tyler District.

The data will be collected 24 hours a day on all system roadways until April 26, according to a department news release.

Contractors are collecting the data on behalf of the department’s transportation and planning division, the news release reads.

The Tyler District includes Anderson, Cherokee, Gregg, Henderson, Rusk, Smith, Van Zandt and Wood counties.
