Lee’s Skrocki ties for 47th in Class 6A Region II golf tournament

WACO — Tyler Lee junior Scott Skrocki carded an 85 on Thursday during the second round of the Class 6A Region II Golf Tournament at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course.
Skrocki, who fired an 81 in the first round, had a 36-hole total of 165 to finish in a tie for 47th with Montgomery’s Luke Kennedy, Round Rock’s Tyler Walters and Round Rock Westwood’s Austin Chung. There were 96 players entered.
Houston Memorial (298-304—602) won the team title in a playoff with Dallas Jesuit A (306-296—602). Houston Stratford was third at 619 (313-306), followed by The Woodlands (316-305—621) and Montgomery (314-318—632). There were 16 teams entered.
Stratford’s Matthew Riedel earned medalist honors with a 143 (74-69). Dallas Jesuit’s Forrest Park won silver with a 144 (73-71) while Memorial’s William Noll took the bronze with a 146 (74-72).
Advancing as medalists are: T4, Jack Randle, The Woodlands College Park, 79-69—148; T6, Jack Kersting, Richardson Pearce, 76-73—149; and T6, Danny Chen, Richardson Pearce, 75-74—149.
The Class 6A State Tournament is May 14-15 at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown.
