Grief Recovery, Advent Bible study among upcoming faith-based events

JEHOVAH’S WITNESS ASSEMBLY
Jehovah’s Witnesses from East Texas will attend their semiannual circuit assembly on Saturday and Sunday at the Carthage Civic Center. The theme of the circuit assembly is “Maintain Love for Jehovah!” based on Matthew 22:37. Jehovah’s Witnesses from Carthage, Whitehouse, Nacogdoches, Kilgore, Bullard, Lufkin and other communities will attend Saturday’s session, while Jehovah’s Witnesses from Longview, Marshall, Lindale, Mineola and Tyler areas will attend Sunday’s session. The public talk, “Do Not Lose the Love You Had at First,” will highlight the program each afternoon at 2:55 p.m. The event, which will start at 9:40 a.m. each morning, is free to the public.

Nate Frederick, a practitioner of Christian Science healing and a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, will present a free lecture entitled “Learn to Pray and Heal: A spiritual adventure,” at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Courtyard Marriott, 7424 S. Broadway Ave., across from Carmike 14 theater in Tyler. First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Tyler is sponsoring the event.
GRIEF RECOVERY
GriefShare, a support group for those grieving the death of a loved one, is scheduled to meet at 2 p.m. Monday at Holly Brook Baptist Church, 3219 S. Farm-to-Market Road 2869, in Hawkins, in the Parlor of the Family Life Center. ‘SOUND DOCTRINE, SOUND LIVING’ BIBLE STUDY
The Holly Brook Baptist Church men’s Bible study will focus on the New Testament book of Titus. The study’s theme is “Sound Doctrine, Sound Living.” Men from the community are invited. GOSPEL CONCERT
The Dartts, a family singing group from Nashville, Tennessee, will perform in concert at 6 p.m. March 11 at Willowbrook Baptist Church, 3100 W. Erwin St., in Tyler. Tracy Dartt wrote the hit song “God on the Mountain,” which, along with many of his other songs, has been recorded by top Gospel artists. MAN WRONGFULLY ACCUSED TO SPEAK
Michael Morton, a Texan who after 25 years in prison was exonerated of his wife’s murder, will speak at 10 a.m. March 14 at Holly Brook Baptist Church, 3219 S. Farm-to-Market Road 2869, in Hawkins. Saints Alive, the church’s senior adult ministry, is putting on the event. Morton was cleared in 2011 through DNA evidence not presented during his trial. The Innocence Project helped obtain his release and overturn his conviction. His message is one of grace and forgiveness. Praise Fest 2017 is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 15 on the T.B. Butler Fountain Plaza in downtown Tyler.
