The what’s next for Gander Mountain saga continues even while going out of business sales are being held in all of its stores.

The latest change is that the company’s new owner, Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis tweeted May 11 that the name of the stores is being changed to Gander Outdoors and that he would pay $25,000 for anyone who coming up with a new logo for the company.

There is a lot of confusion about Ganders future because of the going out of business sale. When Gander Mountain was sold out of bankruptcy last month Lemonis purchased the name and location leases. A liquidation company purchased the inventory and is selling it to empty the stores.

After purchasing the stores Lemonis stated that the downfall of Gander Mountain was not its product mix, but the way the company had purchase product, often buying too much of an item for its needs.

Although Lemonis has vowed to keep at least 70 of the current locations and possibly more operating under the new name, no decision has been announced on which locations would be re-opened.

Lemonis reportedly has until early October to make a decision about ongoing locations. The ability to reduce lease costs in each location is expected to play a big part in the decision-making.

The Gander Mountain store opened in Tyler in 2006 and underwent a remodel along with other company stores in 2014.
