Stamp of approval for Mineola football champs

In honor of the Mineola ISD 3A Division 1 state football championship title in December 2016, the local Mineola Post Office is releasing a stamp for a limited time.

A news conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Mineola ISD Administration Building. Scheduled to be in attendance are U.S. Postal staff, Randall Joines, Manager Post Office Operations, Mineola Postmaster Mark Page and Mineola Supervisor Carlist Brinkley.



This stamp will be available in limited quantity at the Mineola Post Office beginning Wednesday.

The image commemorates the event with the Yellowjacket logo. Orders can also be placed online beginning Wednesday at www.usps.com.

The 2016 Mineola High School football team earned the state championship title on Dec. 15, 2016 with a 35-14 win over the Yoakum Bulldogs in 3A Division 1. This is the first football championship title for Mineola in the 102-year history of the MISD athletics program.
