JEHOVAH’S WITNESS ASSEMBLY
Jehovah’s Witnesses from East Texas will attend their semiannual circuit assembly Oct. 28 through 29 at the Carthage Civic Center. The theme of the circuit assembly is “Don’t Give Up In Doing What Is Fine.” Jehovah’s Witnesses from Carthage, Nacogdoches, Lufkin, Whitehouse and other communities will attend Saturday’s session, while Jehovah’s Witnesses from Longview, Marshall and Tyler will attend Sunday’s session. The public talk, “Avoid Mocking God – In What Sense,” will highlight the program each afternoon. The event, which will start at 9:40 a.m. each day, is free to the public.
WOMEN’S MISSIONARY SUNDAY
The Christian Women’s Council of Bethany Word of Life Tabernacle, 6808 Paluxy Drive in Tyler, will have a Women’s Missionary Sunday program at 10 a.m. Sunday on the church campus. St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 1020 S. Lyons Ave., in Tyler will have Breast Cancer Awareness Sunday at its 11 a.m. worship service. Everyone is asked to wear pink. Refreshments will be served.

Pollard United Methodist Church, 3030 New Copeland Road, in Tyler will have Trunk or Treat for the neighborhood from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the church parking lot.
GOSPEL PERFORMANCE
Doug Anderson, formerly with Signature Sound Quartet, will perform at Westwood Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Nov. 5. No tickets are needed. However, a love offering will be taken at the end of the service.
ALERT ACADEMY CHORUS TO PERFORM
The International ALERT Academy chorus of Big Sandy will perform at Holly Brook Baptist Church, 3219 S. Farm-to-Market Road 2869, in Hawkins at 6 p.m. Nov. 5. The chorus has performed in settings ranging from local venues to the White House. A fellowship will immediately follow the free concert. HOLIDAY BAZAAR
First United Methodist Church, 225 Lovers Lane, in Athens will have its annual Holiday Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 10, and from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 11. The bazaar will feature fall and Christmas decorations, fabric items, jewelry and floral arrangements. Baked goods also will be sold, and there will be a drawing.
100TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
