ARP – Demarvion Overshown is an Under Armor All-American. The superstar from Arp and University of Texas commit received his official invitation Thursday in a ceremony at Arp High School.
With teammates, students and teachers in attendance, Overshown donned an All-America jersey with the number 18 for 2018 and posed for pictures before addressing the audience.

“First of all I want to thank God because if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be here,” Overshown said. “I also want to thank my family for always supporting me in everything that I’ve done and keeping my head on straight. I also want to thank my coaches and my teammates for always pushing me to get better. A huge honor and I want to thank Under Armour for allowing me to receive this wonderful gift.”
Overshown joins fellow East Texas and Longhorns commit Keaontay Ingram from Carthage as being invited to the Under Armor All-America game. It will take place on Jan. 4 from Orlando, Fla., and will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
“I am kind of nervous. It’s going to be first time on a plane,” said Overshown, who currently leads Arp with 105 tackles as free safety.
“Just going to Orlando and competing against some of the top athletes is going to be great.”
Overshown helped Arp reach the state semifinals a year ago and was featured on the cover of the Tyler Morning Telegraph and ETFinalScore.com’s Pigskin Preview magazine in the fall.
Tigers head coach Dale Irwin said his senior leader was asked to take offensive responsibilities this year to go along with defensive prowess, and like the staff envisioned, Overshown excelled at both. Overshown has two sacks and five pass breakups to go with his triple-digit tackles while also providing 400 yards rushing and 300 yards receiving with nine touchdowns.

“He has great character is a great leader and is a great person,” Irwin said of Overshown. “We are very proud of the young man he is and the man he is going to become in the future. This is a great honor not just for Demarvion, but for the entire community of Arp because it will be on national television, and hopefully they will say ‘Arp, Texas.'”
